The meeting will be held at the Elzenveld Congress Centre in Antwerp (www.elzenveld.be).

The historic Elzenveld Centre dates back to the 1400’s and was home to the city’s first Hospitale nfirmorium. 
The centre has since been transformed into one of the most unique conference venues in the Benelux region and is located in the heart of the city centre, easily accessible by foot and public transport. 

REGISTRATION/INFORMATION DESK OPEN HOURS

The registration/information desk will be open in the Elzenveld Congress Centre as follows:

Friday 12 December 2008  09:00-17:00
Saturday 13 December 2008  08:00-15:00

Certificates of attendance will be available on Saturday 13 December on receipt of completed Meeting evaluation forms.

LUNCH AND REFRESHMENTS

Lunch, coffee and tea will be available throughout the Meeting and will be included in the registration fee. 

CME ACCREDITATION

EACCME Accreditation is being applied for in respect of the Meeting.  Further details to follow in due course.

The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.
EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association towards the Physician's Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EACCME credit to AMA PRA category 1 credit, contact the AMA.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

The official language of the EACTS, and the Meeting, is English.

PASSPORTS AND VISAS

Check passport and visa requirements in due time before you leave.  Passport-holders from countries in Western Europe (EU) as well as from North America and Australia do not need a visa to enter Belgium.  All other nationalities will have to contact the Belgian Embassy in their country for detailed information

OFFICIAL LETTERS OF INVITATION

Letters of invitation required to meet the administrative and legal regulations of some countries are available to participants on line via the EACTS website www.eacts.org or alternatively upon written request to the Executive Secretariat.  Please write your name and address clearly, in order to ensure an efficient reply.  Such letters should not, however, be construed as a financial commitment on the part of the Organisers.

CURRENCY AND CREDIT CARDS

The currency in Belgium is the euro.  Most hotels, restaurants and shops accept internationally valid credit cards.

INSURANCE AND LIABILITY

All participants are encouraged to make their own arrangements for health and travel insurance.  Neither EACTS nor EATCS, can be held responsible for any personal injury, loss, damage, accident to private property or additional expenses incurred as a result of delays or changes in air, rail, sea, road or other services, strikes, sickness, weather and any other cause.

DISCLAIMER
The European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) cannot accept any liability for death, injury, or any loss, cost or expense suffered or incurred by any person if such loss is caused or results from the act, default or omission of any person other than an employee or agent of EACTS.  In particular, EACTS cannot accept any liability for losses arising from the provision or non-provision of services provided by hotel companies or transport operators.  Nor can EACTS accept liability for losses suffered by reason of war including threat of war, riot and civil strife, terrorist activity, natural disaster, weather, flood, drought, technical, mechanical or electrical breakdown within any premises visited by delegates and/or partners in connection with the EACTS Focus on Thymic Tumours Meeting, industrial disputes, governmental action, regulations or technical problems which may affect the services provided in connection with the EACTS Focus on Thymic Tumours Meeting .  The EACTS is unable to give any warranty that a particular person will appear as a speaker or panellist.
